Sheri R. Colberg, PhD, FACSM, is Professor Emerita of Exercise Science from Old Dominion University and former Adjunct Professor of Internal Medicine from Eastern Virginia Medical School. A graduate of Stanford, University of California, Davis, and Cal Berkeley, she is an internationally recognized authority on diabetes and exercise (www.shericolberg.com). She has shaped diabetes physical activity guidelines for many professional organizations, including ACSM, American Diabetes Association (ADA), and American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE).
A funded researcher and author of 10 books, 21 book chapters, and 300 articles, including Diabetic Athlete's Handbook: Your Guide to Peak Performance and Exercise and Diabetes: A Clinician’s Guide to Prescribing Physical Activity, she is the founder of Diabetes Motion (www.diabetesmotion.com) and Diabetes Motion Academy (www.dmacademy.com). A Fellow of ACSM (FACSM), she was also the recipient of the 2016 ADA Outstanding Educator in Diabetes Award.
